HOW TO MANAGE YOUR MASTERS SYNDICATION

You, as sponsor, need to do a few things to EARN that commission check.  There is new payment technology
available in CMI.

It is CMI policy that you do NOT call the Data Processing Center to verify if your member has made a payment or
if it has cleared. It is up to you, the sponsor, to contact your member and discuss their payment activity.

Here is what the Data Processing Center recommends:

Order a syndication report from the Processing center. This would be mailed to you monthly after the Masters
cycle has been processed. You can monitor the payment activity of your members with this report.  Currently,
there is no online method to look this up yourself. We can mail OR email the report to you.

If your members mailed in their payment, then you could verify with a tracking number, if they used one. If they
just used a stamp, then there is no way to verify it.  You cannot call the Center to have them search through the
mail to see if it arrived.

Online Payments:
Ask your members if they made a payment online. If so, have they checked to see if the payment cleared at their
bank?  Did they receive a receipt by email confirming the request? An online payment may take up to 2-3 days to
appear on their statement.  CMI’s bank would not see a completed transaction until 7 days have passed.

If you do not see a withdrawal and do not have a rejection notice, please call the DP center for more information.
The first thing they will ask you is:  Did you check your bank account ? If you have, then the center will look up
your transaction and give you the results of your attempted transaction.
It may be one these:
Insufficient funds -- not enough money in your account
Invalid account number, unable to locate -- you entered the wrong routing and account numbers
Negative account block – this flag is set when a previous attempt has already been rejected for various reasons
Duplicate transaction – you tried to do more than one transaction from the same bank account within 10 minutes

Any of these results means you need to re-enter your online order all over again from the beginning by the 25th
of the month.  The transaction you attempted never cleared and we have no order to process.

There is a $20 draft reject fee that also needs to be paid to CMI

CMI does have a system in place to send automatic emails to notify purchasers of a rejection.  There is no email
to notify you if your funds cleared. You must check the activity in your bank account.
Please do not assume any
transaction is complete without verifying at your bank.

If you do a one-time online payment or requested Recurring Draft on the 25th, there is an automatic email stating
that a request for payment has been made. This is NOT a confirmation of funds received.  You still need to
monitor your account.
If your online payment rejects, an emailed notice will be sent to you by CMI.

If you are having difficulty managing the online payments, you may mail in your order one time to the Center
(whether new application or a reorder form) and include a Bank Draft Authorization form with a Voided Check.
The Processing center will then set up a monthly automatic draft to be made from your account.

Some things to know about the automatic draft:
You will be drafted on the 25th
When the request is sent out to your bank, we send you an automatic receipt by email that the transaction will
take place.
Withdrawals may take up to 3 business days.  Banking does not take place on weekends or holidays.
If there is a rejection of the withdrawal, you will receive a notice by email.
If you do not see a withdrawal and do not have a rejection notice, please call the DP center for more information.
If there is a failure of your payment, you do NOT have a 2nd chance for payment.  You have missed making a
purchase for that cycle.

Reminders:
The deadline for ALL payments is that they are due in by the 25th. This is for “new” and “reorders". That means:
We need to see an online payment request made by the 25th (before 3pm west coast time). OR it was mailed
and received by the Processing Center on or before the 25th of each month.

If the recurring bank draft payment plan has been requested, the monthly withdrawal request will take place on
the 25th. You may not see the withdrawal for up to 3 days, but you should receive an emailed receipt of the
requested transaction.  The payment must clear (bank to bank funds transfer) to be considered complete. This
can take up to 7 days.
If the draft is rejected, there is no 2nd chance. You cannot mail in a make up
purchase after the 25th for a failed draft.

Please note, there is no online or draft electronic payment that clears INSTANTLY.  Bank to bank transfers take
place over a few BUSINESS days, they do not occur immediately.

We recommend that you make your payment EARLY in the month no matter what the payment method OR
prepare early for your draft on the 25th. That way, if there is an error or problem of any kind, it can still be
resolved before the deadline.
